1 . How can I edit a book free of charge?
Each writer can edit his books free of charge in Bookandyou, he needs only his registration in our web.
After that it is possible to edit a new book, without a new registration, for this you only have to click in Upload book.
2 . How can I participate in the contest to be published in paper book (real book)?
To participate in the contest to be published in paper book (real book).
During 6 months, the readers vote each day and at the end of this contest time we will publish the winner, free of charge, in paper book (in the same time we sign a publishing contract with the author in which we guarantee him to get 10% of the sales´ amount).
In fact we publish three books, one in English, one in French and one in Spanish, your book will compete in the adequate competition depending of its writing language.
3 . What must I do to upload a book?
The book has to be completed with a summary (one sheet maximum).
Both the book and the summary may be written in any format but they have to be converted in pdf format, we offer a free access tool if it is requested by the users.
Writers have to cut their book in installments (they might be different to the chapters) taking from 5 to 30 sheets each one. Thus, you have to upload each installment in pdf format to have the entire book ready to be published.
Bookandyou will offer the readers installments every week.
4 . How can I convert to pdf format?
To convert to pdf format you may use your own converter or if not we offer you a free converter the Cute Writer.
-Procedure to install a PDF Converter.
Click on the Cute Writer link
Click on save the file and choose the folder in which you want to save it
Once loaded double click the file to execute it and accept the security message in case of having it.
Click on Next and "accept the agreement" And to conclude click on install.
-Procedure to create pdf files.
First open the file that you would like to convert to pdf format using your text editor. Select the print option (usually found under file>print) and select CUTEpdf writer. Caution: do not select Print to File Option to print. You will be prompted to select the destination directory and file name for your output file. Fill them and click on print.
Please note that some applications, such as NotePad, will automatically print to your default printer when you select the Print option. If you want to create PDF file, you may need to change your printer selection within that application before printing the file. This can typically be done from Page Setup.
-Procedure to uninstall CUTEPDF
If you want to uninstall Cutepdf, you have to choose Cutepdf in the Taskbar And pdfwriter and the uninstall option.
-Procedure to zoom a PDF document
Please clicks your mouse´s right button once on top of the text and chooses the ZOOM option.
-Procedure to print a PDF Document
Please clicks your mouse´s right button once on top of the text and chooses the PRINT option.
5 . What happens with the unpublished books?
At the end of the 6 month period the top rated book will be published in paper�s format ("real book").
At that time, a new 6 month period competition will start with new books and the writers will be allowed to subscribe their books once more.
Those books which are not presented in the new competition will be loaded in a data base ("publishing base"). This base will also be opened to readers but they won´t be able to vote in this case.
So each book will be presented on the web during 12 months, with access possibilities to each reader.
Finally the writer grants Bookandyou a 12 months exclusivity (see legal).
6 . How is my book protected?
Each writer must register his work in his proper property registry, to be protected against copies.
On our web, the users are not allowed to download the pdf files but they can only be read through access to our web server.
7 . How can I read free of charge?
We offer the possibility to be connected, free of charge, to thousands of books in various languages.
At the same time the reader is acting like a publisher, deciding with his vote which book will be published and accessing to all comments sharing ideas and impressions.
In fact, the reader is part of a reading club, taking an active role in deciding which books are to be published.
Books are read through weekly installments (5 to 30 pages) through your screen, and may also be printed to make the reader more comfortable.
8 . When will the contest be closed?
The contest takes 6 months, the current period will be closed on 1st May 2009 (this competition starts on 1st November 2008). At that time, we will give the final results with the winner book, which will be published in paper format ("real book")
All books loading in Bookandyou before February the 28th 2009 will be part of the current competition , those which will be loaded after this date will also be included (for free ) in the next competition ( so we avoid to prejudice writers who would have less than 2 months inside the vote system ).
9 . Which books may I vote?
You may vote for any book included in the competition whatever its category or language.
Each registered reader can vote only once a day.
10 . How is the vote guarantied?
The foundational concept of Bookandyou is to legitimate the publication of books with the readers´ support; breaking the current publisher´s tendencies who take care only of fashion or profitability criteria
For this raison the vote system is the core of our concept , and must be secure , fighting against frauds .
So, each reader can only vote once a day, been identified, and writers are not allowed to vote. They are only allowed to do so if they are also registered as readers, but they can´t vote for their work.
These rules will be watched by our system and each detected fraud will conclude with expulsion. These clauses are included in what readers and writers have to accept, in the legal part, when they get registered.

We have forecasted three kinds of developments in Bookandyou
-To increase our book categories, increasing the competitions we will offer at the same time
-To increase different in languages, to be more international.
-To publish books, though they did not win the competition, if they have a special quality or singularity deserving to be published.
